The Raven
A sequence for the opening stanza of “The Raven” by Edgar Allan Poe. Done as part of OCAD University’s CSPD-N146-011, Storyboarding for Media Production course. Since having done this course I learned that most boards are rendered with flat layers of black and grey, but working traditionally with pen and ink helped me better understand how to layer values and how to create the omnious atmosphere of the poem’s story.
"Once upon a midnight dreary,"
"While I pondered, weak and weary,"
"Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore—"
"While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door."
"'’Tis some visitor,' I muttered, 'tapping at my chamber door—
"Only this and nothing more.'"
